my lifeguard

my spirit wavers amidst the wind,
my thoughts swerve in and out,
i am doubting… trying to see your hand
pull me out, O God, right now

i feel alone; thrashing in these waves

O Lord, i’m yearning for you
i’m longing for your embrace
i’m longing to see your glorious face
i’m corrupted- i’m in need of your grace

i deserve to drown

but You, with your loving face
look down
and pull me up.
when I am down, in the uttermost currents
of ocean deep,

you pull me up.

you embrace me.
you look to me with sweetness.
you justified me

you shine upon me and give me peace.

when the oceans rise and waves crash down,
you rescue me from the storms
i will take Your hand and hold to You

Father, You are my Lifeguard

I lift up my eyes to the mountains—where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. – Psalm 121:1
